Empowered and Engaged

– Aristotle
There is much written about employee engagement with often cited sources such as Gallup’s Q12 Employee Engagement Survey. In their latest collective findings, “a staggering 87% of employees worldwide are not engaged.”
And some words given to how to turn those numbers around. From the quick fixes to whole new employee programs. While new perks are good, these are not what engage, inspire or empower your staff.
Organization’s that have highly engaged, motivated and successful employees create environments where everyone’s best emerges. These organizations share common traits:
Clarity and transparency from the top on what matters most
Provide everyone with meaningful work, including the opportunity to contribute to the future direction of the organization
Opportunities for advancement are known and attainable
Adaptability, reliability and accountability are a way of life and seen in action throughout the organization
Coaching, open-dialogue and feedback go in all directions (not just top-down)
All staff understand their role in the organization’s success
Collaboration and innovation drive improvement goals – how do we beat yesterday’s best?
